Our cabin rentals are located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone, Blowing Rock, Historic Valle Crucis, Hawksnest and Todd, NC. The owner of Anderson Mountain Rentals, Wendy Raines, began coming to Boone from Eastern North Carolina when she was a child with her family on vacation. She later came to attend Appalachian State University. Her parents joined her in Boone, and soon thereafter she and her mother began working in the Real Estate and New Construction area of business. In the early 90’s they added the management of vacation rentals to their company. Having been vacation property renters themselves prior to moving to the Boone area gave the team at Anderson Mountains Rentals an edge. They knew what was important to the renters and what kept the renters coming back year after year and that has not changed.

Each time Wendy is previewing a prospective new cabin she remembers the excitement from years ago when her family would be following directions to a cabin rental. Her staff keeps in mind that families have often saved all year just to come on vacation and they strive to make each stay a memorable one. On many occasions renters are making their return visit plans before they even leave. The repeat renter discount program is in heavy use by the return renters that are proudly welcomed back.

Anderson Mountain Rentals chooses to keep a limited number of cabin rentals in order to provide continued personalized service. In addition to family and corporate retreats Anderson Rentals offers pet friendly homes so that no member of the family gets left at home.

Wendy Raines

The owner of Anderson Mountain Rentals, Wendy Raines, began coming to Boone from Eastern North Carolina when she was a child with her family on vacation. She later came to attend Appalachian State University. Her parents joined her in Boone, and soon thereafter she and her mother began working in the Real Estate and New Construction area of business. They knew what was important to the renters and what kept the renters coming back year after year and that has not changed.

Sarah Hawkins

Office Administrator

Sarah Hawkins has been an exciting and energetic addition to our friendly staff. She brings knowledge of the area as well as a personality that enables renters to place their confidence in her abilities. Often times after she has assisted a family choose the most ideal vacation place they will create a bond that will last for other visits to this area. She attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a degree in Psychology. She also met her husband, Brian while attending Appalachian State University and have been married for 18 years. They have two children. She is active in her children’s school activities and does not know the word no. Sarah enjoys photography and reading. We consider her an asset to the Anderson Mountain Rentals family.

Grant Mastin

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Grant Mastin to the Anderson Mountain Realty & Rentals team and family. Grant and his wife, Pam, are both natives of Jonesville, NC located in the northwestern corner of Yadkin County and both have deep roots in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Both of them have a deep love of the Blue Ridge Mountains having spent many days in the mountains during their youth and adult years. Grant also spent two years in the early 70’s delivering groceries in Wilkes, Alleghany, Ashe, and Watauga counties for a wholesale grocery company out of Elkin, NC and he knows much of the High Country like the back of his hand. Since those early days, Grant has obtained an undergraduate and graduate degrees in business and economics from High Point University and spent 25 years working for AMP Incorporated and Tyco Electronics as an engineer and manager. After taking an early retirement in 2001, Grant and Pam relocated from Greensboro, NC to Deep Gap and Powder Horn Mountain, where they currently reside. Grant managed Powder Horn, one of the High Country’s oldest and most well established gated resort and residential communities, from mid 2001 to late 2013, including establishing and operating an in house real estate sales and rental program. During its 5 year heyday, the in-house program sold over 110 lots and 46 homes in Powder Horn and managed as many as 25 rental properties for their owners. Grant has been an Associate Broker-Realtor® with Parker Mountain Properties, Inc. since late 2013. Grant and Pam have two grown children, Neil and Amanda, who are both married and live in Raleigh, NC and Bremerton, WA, respectively, with their spouses. They also have two five year old grandchildren, twins Penelope and Isaak, who live in Raleigh and are the joy of their lives. Their love of the High Country and all it has to offer has only grown since relocating to the area and making it their home. Grant is looking forward to his new role with our Â team and helping to grow our real estate sales program to compliment our thriving rental program.

Joseph “Scott” Cornette –

Joseph “Scott” Cornette – Real Estate Broker Scott has been an active licensed real estate agent in North Carolina since 2018. Scott’s previous position as a Membership Director for a private gated community and country club in Linville, NC has positioned him well for client engagement on a professional level that is unmatched. Scott also served on the board of the Property Owners Association for the community in an administrative role. This experience gave Scott valuable insight and a detailed understanding of policies and procedures relating to building permits, impact fees, property restrictions and POA bylaws that affected each and every property owner within the community.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Marketing with a minor in Communications from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. This education, along with Scott’s technical prowess and skill with video cameras, video editing and sound engineering led him to the position of Production Manager with Charter Media in Hickory, NC for more than seven years. Scott produced literally hundreds of television commercials for the local market while also supervising a staff of nine individuals within the Creative Services department that included a News division. Needless to say that when it comes to “communication,” Scott is very relatable, effective, clear and concise.
